CONSUMER LAW GROUP has launched a Canada-wide class action lawsuit against the makers of the diabetes drugs Avandia, Avandamet, and Avandaryl (rosiglitazone), manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, on behalf of individuals who have suffered from an adverse cardiovascular event.
Adverse cardiovascular events caused by the diabetes drugs Avandia, Avandamet, and Avandaryl (rosiglitazone), includes the following symptoms:
• Heart Attack
• Stroke
• Congestive Heart failure
• Death
• Myocardial Ischemia
• Chest pains

The class action lawsuit identifies the group of affected persons as:
o all persons residing in Canada who have taken and/or purchased the drug rosiglitazone (sold under the brand name AVANDIA®, AVANDAMET®, and AVANDARYL®) since March 21st 2000 and their successors, assigns, family members, and dependants or any other group to be determined by the Court.
Alternately (or as a subclass)
o all persons residing in Quebec who have taken and/or purchased the drug rosiglitazone (sold under the brand name AVANDIA®, AVANDAMET®, and AVANDARYL®) since March 21st 2000 and their successors, assigns, family members, and dependants or any other group to be determined by the Court.
If you or a member of your family have used the diabetes drugs Avandia, Avandamet or Avandaryl (rosiglitazone) and suffered from adverse cardiovascular events or developed any other serious physical or psychological side effects or conditions while using the diabetes drugs Avandia, Avandamet or Avandaryl (rosiglitazone), and you wish more information on potential compensation or to be kept advised of the status of the Avandia Drug Side Effects Class Action litigation or any resulting compensation from the Avandia Drug Side Effects Lawsuit in Canada, Quebec or Ontario, please provide your contact information to our law firm using the below form.
