Ford F-150 Lightning EV Canadian Class Action

Statement of Claim
CONSUMER LAW GROUP has instituted a Canadian class action lawsuit against Ford and Qmerit for the following alleged misrepresentations:
1) The Home Integration System is only available in the United States and is not available in Canada;
2) The Ford Charge Station Pro is incapable of charging F-150 Lightning EVs at a rate of “80 amps on demand”;
3) An electrician can install Ford Charge Stations, however Ford recommends a Qmerit electrician for the installation of Ford Charge Stations, which is significantly higher than that which would be charged by a qualified non-Qmerit electrician;
4) The Ford Connected Charge Station (retail price of $1,099.95) is compatible with and can be used to charge Ford F-150 Lightning EVs – rather than only the Ford Mustang-E and Ford E-Transit – as there is no appreciable difference in performance with the Ford Charge Station Pro (retail price of $1,799.95).
You are a class member is you are a "resident in Canada who leased or purchased a 2022–2026 model year Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Vehicle".
The lawsuit alleges that Ford made misleading representations and omissions in advertising, marketing, and instructional materials:
• concerning the capability of the Home Integration System to be used with Ford F-150 EVs to power consumers’ home during an outage;
• actively and deceptively steering consumers towards unnecessarily purchasing the Ford Charge Station Pro rather than the Ford Connected Charge Station; and
• actively and deceptively steering consumers towards contracting with Qmerit for the installation of Ford Charge Stations by frustrating or otherwise obscuring consumer choice in contracting with other electricians at significantly lower prices.
